Eighth Meeting of the United Nations Network of Economic Statisticians

The meeting will take place virtually from 7:00 am to 8:15 am, New York time, on 28 May 2025. Where appropriate, notes on the topics to be discussed will be circulated to participants in advance of the meeting. This will ensure that the sessions make use of the limited time through focused discussions.

Aishath Shahuda, Co-Chair of the United Nations Network of Economic Statisticians and Deputy Chief Statistician Maldives Bureau of Statistics

2. 7:05-7:25 am Update on Ongoing Sprints
Presenters: Jacqui Vitas General Manager ABS, Mauricio Ortiz Associate Director BEA and Chris Li Director Statistics Canada

The session will provide participants with a summary of the Sprints that the Network is currently carrying out (e.g., Net-zero led by ABS, Sub-national statistics led by the BEA, Tourism statistics led by StatCan) with the help of various NSOs and other organizations. This is an opportunity for Network members to not only be informed about the objectives of these Sprints, but also to show any interest in contributing, if they had not already done so.
