Net-Zero Statistics Sprint

Achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is a critical goal for governments, businesses, and organizations seeking to mitigate climate change. Measuring progress toward net-zero involves tracking and reducing direct and indirect emissions. Effective measurement includes setting science-based targets, regularly reporting emissions data, and using recognized standards such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Accurate measurement is essential not only for transparency and accountability but also for identifying key areas for emission reductions and ensuring alignment with global climate goals like those set out in the Paris Agreement.

The webinar will open with an overview of the Storybook, a high-level document that will focus on existing frameworks and indicators for measuring Net-Zero progress coupled with case studies from various countries around the world. Some of these country experiences will also be presented at the webinar, giving participants the opportunity to learn and to comment on the content of the Storybook.
